The central unit stores data locally , making it completely safe. Home Assistant Yellow requires Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (not included) to work properly. The Yellow version also supports M.2 Key M drives in sizes 2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280. The whole thing is enclosed in a transparent housing, with access to connectors and buttons. The set also includes a radiator, thermally conductive tapes and an appropriate power supply.

Works with Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4)

For proper operation, the Home Assistant Yellow smart home control unit requires the use of a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) minicomputer, which is not included in the set and must be purchased separately. A board with at least 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC memory is required. Please note that the Lite versions of this board do not have built-in Flash memory, in which case an NVMe SSD drive should be used. Some users have reported these drives not working properly with Home Assistant Yellow.
