Thestandby mode is activated when the battery has not been discharged within 24 hours. In standby mode, the standby voltage is reduced to 13.2 V to reduce gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. This feature prevents electrolyte layering and sulphation, which is the main cause of premature battery failure.

Five LED indicators for status and mode display
When connected to the AC mains, the STAND-BY indicator will light up. There will be no voltage at the output. When connected to a battery (battery voltage must be above 8.5 V), the MODE button allows the user to select from three charging profiles:
- Limited current t0 0.8A and absorption voltage 14.4V. Red LED
- Current 4A and absorption voltage of 14.4V. Red LED will light up > 14Ah. Application: for rechargeable, AGM or GEL batteries. Ambient temperature 10-35°C.
- Current 4A and absorption voltage of 14.7V. Red LED COLD will be lit. Use: for rechargeable, AGM or GEL batteries. Ambient temperature below 10°C, or batteries requiring higher charging voltage.
The red LED Charging will be lit until the battery is fully charged.
When charging is complete, the red LED FULL will be lit.
In the case of a reverse polarity connection, the red LED! will be ON.
If the red LED STANDBY remains lit even when the MODE button is pressed, the connection to the battery is broken.
The charger always enters standby mode when connected to the AC mains.
