The patchpanel is one of the basic elements used for structural cabling. It is installed in 19" racks. The screws used for assembly are the same as for active devices. The task of the patchpanel is to terminate the cables coming down to the distribution cabinet.
The RJ45 cat 6 UTP patchpanel ports connect to the active device using patchcords of appropriate category to maintain the appropriate connection standard. The cable is connected to the patchpanel using a punch down tool.
