The PAR-820 is designed to amplify weak terrestrial TV signals received by a passive receiving antenna. The preamplifier's housing shape allows for mounting anywhere on the coaxial antenna cable. This means the preamplifier can be used in an existing antenna installation without antenna disassembly. Due to the signal-to-noise ratio deteriorating with distance from the antenna, it is recommended to place the preamplifier as close to the antenna as possible. The PAR-820 tube preamplifier is intended for indoor use. The device is powered via the coaxial cable from the output side. Due to the wide range of acceptable supply voltages +5...+24V, this amplifier can be powered: directly from a tuner or TV (the above devices must be able to output +5V), or via an external power separator (with a power supply).
